Sponsored by the WashU Film Club, with support from WashU’s Program in Film and Media Studies, the WashU Film Festival seeks to highlight the best in collegiate filmmaking from across the country.

WashU Film Festival is currently accepting submissions through FilmFreeway until August 1st, 2025.
All submitted films will be eligible for the Festival’s Grand Prize, the Golden Bunny, named after WashU’s infamous “Thinker Bunny” statue.
Please visit us on FilmFreeway to submit your film(s) and view our eligibility guidelines. Current WashU students may submit films free of charge.

Films will be selected for inclusion in the festival by a board of student programmers and film majors. Entrants will be notified by August 16th, 2025 of their selection in the festival. During the festival weekend, category winners will be voted on by a panel of film and media professors and community film professionals. Regardless of acceptance, all entrants are invited to attend the festival, hosted on campus at Washington University in St. Louis.
